EMC

Fifteen years of equity, rebuilt without resetting it

(SCROLL)

Elm & Memar Construction is a Saudi Design and Build contractor delivering across commercial, residential, hospitality, institutional and fit-out work.

The team behind Storm created EMC’s original identity in 2011. Fifteen years on, the business had grown in scale, capability and ambition. The brand had not moved with it.

(02) Challenge

Protect existing brand equity

Fifteen years of recognition in a tender-driven market is an asset. Replacing the identity would have reset it, and in construction an unfamiliar name invites a second look nobody wants during procurement. But the existing system no longer carried the weight of the business. Left unchanged, it would have kept EMC looking like the company it was rather than the one it had become.

(03) Decision

Evolve while preserving recognition

The position

The project was run as an evolution rather than a reinvention. Every decision had to pass one test: does this strengthen the brand without breaking continuity with 2011?

The consequence

Refinement, not replacement. The identity was tightened into a more disciplined system while staying recognisably EMC, and the communications were rebuilt around that discipline.

What was built

How it launched

Identity, profile and website went live as one aligned system, presenting EMC as a First Grade Design and Build contractor.

(04) Impact

Fifteen years from the first identity to this evolution, with the same team.
